Preview Books Arrived!

Posted: 9th February 2013 by Diamond Sutra in Production

Ahhh, unfortunately we were snagged by Chinese New Year: They weren’t able to bind and send all the books before the biggest event of the year in China/Hong Kong, so we’re set back approx 10-14 days.

On the other hand, we got the samples of the paperbacks with slipcase, and the awesome limited edition hardcovers.

Sorry about the shakes, I had one hand holding the iPad…

Currently working on the shopping application for folks who didn’t participate in the KS to be able to order the PDF or the book set!

  1. Shiro says:

    Sweet! 😀

I guess it’s a bit late to report I found a couple of other word-salad mistakes? ^_^; No biggie, just a couple of sentences with repeated words, such as “These are names for characters that come from a buke, or warrior family (noble, vassal, etc) family.” on p385…

I’m very much looking forward to receiving my copies so I can spread the love! A friend of mine also put in for the Kickstarter, and is starting to think about running a game.

  2. ron says:

I don’t know if this is news or not, but when I was doing my weekly grocery shopping the other day, I saw that the newest issue of Otaku USA had a 4 page write up of TBZ.

  3. errant12345 says:

    Hey, I was just wondering.

Will the store support sending books to other people as gifts? If so, will they have to register or anything like that? I’d love to send a few pdfs around to my friends but a lot of them aren’t so keen on having to register to receive gifts.

  4. Hey Shiro: Thanks!

Hey Ron: Yeah, Jason (the author) gave me a heads up! I’ll post a link to it when the magazine arrives at my place.

Hey Errant: Hmmmm. I think it will be done, just in the same way you would shop at Amazon and use an alternate shipping address.

  5. Antonio says:

    At last!
How are the possibilities to distribute to European shops? How long will it take?

    Just to be ready.

  6. Maese Mateo says:

Hey! I love what I’m seeing so far. Can’t wait to preorder my own book as soon as the store is up. =D

Related question to the one errant made: I don’t own a credit card, but a friend on mine who also wants to book is planning to purchase both copies with his credit card. Now, this is not a problem for the physical copy (I preffer both copies to go to his home rather than splitting them), but it’s a problem for the PDF if he only gets it unlocked on his account but not on mine. Will there be a way for him to unlock the PDF download on my account as well as his?

  7. Bruno says:

Oh, so pretty… Can’t wait to lay my hands on it!

  8. Europe: Yep! Not sure when, but it is already pre-ordered in Germany, and will get into other stores later.

Maese: You can just have your friend give you a copy of his. Since he’s buying a copy of the book for you, I don’t have a problem with that.

  9. Very happy I upgraded to the hard covers, they look really nice.

  10. Indeed. They totally blew away my expectations as well. Hopefully this weekend I’ll have that pre-order portal open.

  11. Shineek says:

Will hard cover be for backers only ? Or will there be a chance to get them later as well ?

  12. There will be a chance for KS backers to upgrade, then another chance for non-backers to get them as well. There will be no problem for people in the know to secure a copy.

  13. Drew says:

Will the Order Portal allow us to add MAID to our order like you hinted might be possible?

I was also wondering about adding an extra softback to my order as my Hardbacks look just sublime but I want both now :)

  14. Hey, unfortunately that’s likely not going to work out too well. Basically, the size difference is so great (Maid is thinner, but closer to A4 size; and our boxes are mostly going to be B5-ish size) that it will be MORE expensive for you to add a copy of Maid to Tenra, rather than buying them separately (because the international flat-rate envelopes I used to send Maid are relatively cheap, but perfectly sized for Maid; Tenra can’t fit in them).

  15. Drew says:

No problem, if I have to pay separate postage that is not really a problem. One issue I may have is the level of destruction that A4 envelopes encounter by PARCEL FORCE when they take their name to literally.

Due to the fact that I am getting many more things than just the hardbacks, eg. the foam chits/dice/textiles would this change the size of the shipping/packaging box?

Cheers for the response either way and great to see your hard-work paying off.

  16. Heya, they’re going to be packed into a box, so there shouldn’t be any problem with the PARCEL FORCE (I like that name!).
